Finding a job can be tough, especially when you need that extra bit of support, training, or experience to get started—or restart—your career. The Work. Life. Highland team is here to lend a hand to people across the Highlands who are ready to work but need a little extra help along the way. Whether you're returning to work after a break, looking to enhance your skills, or simply need some guidance, the team offers a range of services designed to help you succeed.

Personalised Support for Job Seekers and Working Parents

The Work. Life. Highland team is all about offering tailored support to individuals who are eager to work but may need some assistance building the skills and confidence to secure and maintain a job. They provide access to training, work experience, and advice to help individuals increase their employability and move forward in their careers.

They also offer dedicated support for low-income working parents, helping them to develop new skills and potentially advance within their workplaces. This focused support doesn’t just benefit the individual—it creates long-term opportunities for career growth and financial stability for families in the region.

Connecting Employers with Skilled Candidates

The Work. Life. Highland team understands that businesses across the Highlands are always looking for motivated, skilled employees. They work closely with employers to understand their recruitment needs and match them with candidates who have the right skills and experience. This helps businesses thrive and ensures that local job seekers have access to valuable career opportunities.

Through initiatives like HERO funding, Work. Life. Highland has supported local businesses in Skye, Raasay, and Lochalsh, helping them recruit qualified employees from their pool of clients. By bridging this gap, they’re not only strengthening businesses but also contributing to the growth of the local economy.

Bringing Local Job Opportunities to You

One way the Work. Life. Highland team helps job seekers is through events like the Highland Wide Virtual Jobs Fair. Set for March 17 - 21, this online event will feature local employers, providing job seekers with a chance to explore available positions, learn more about companies, and network with potential employers. Stay in the loop about this event and others by following their Facebook page, Work Life Highland.

The week-long virtual event is delivered by Work. Life. Highland partners The Highland Council, Skills Development Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Department for Work and Pensions, Developing the Young Workforce and UHI North West and Hebrides.

The new website, Work Life Highland, is where you can find everything you need to know about the services on offer. Whether you’re looking for job support, skills enhancement, or want to connect with local employers, the website is packed with resources to help you succeed.
